Kennett man charged with promoting child porn

KENNETT, Mo. (KBSI) – A Kennett man faces a promoting child porn charge.
Matthew Tyler Hammond, 31, of Kennett was arrested on February 8. He is accused of promoting child pornography.
The Special Victims Unit of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control investigated. The State Technical Assistance Team (STAT) assisted in the investigation.
Investigators contacted Hammond at his Kennett home on February 8.
They developed information indicating Hammond had distributed child pornography files online.
Investigators executed a Dunklin County search warrant at Hammond’s home and found evidence to support he had distributed child pornography online.
Hammond was arrested and taken to the Dunklin County Jail.
The Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Hammond with promoting child pornography.
He is being held in the Dunklin County jail, with an $85,000 cash only bond.
The Division of Drug and Crime Control encourages internet users to promptly report to the patrol or local law enforcement anyone who tries to engage in unwanted, inappropriate or sexualized communications with children.
