Kennett man dies days after e-bike crash in Dunklin County

DUNKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) — A Kennett man has died after an e-bike crash Thursday afternoon in Dunklin County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 2:21 p.m. Aug. 6 at the intersection of Floyd Street and Compress Road in Kennett.
The patrol said a 47-year-old Kennett man riding an e-bike failed to stop at a stop sign and traveled into the path of a southbound 2026 Dodge Durango driven by a 46-year-old Poplar Bluff man.
The e-bike rider, who was not wearing a safety device, was airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis with critical injuries. Troopers said he died from his injuries at 1:58 p.m. Saturday. The death marks Troop E’s 35th traffic fatality of 2026.
The driver of the Dodge Durango was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. The SUV sustained minor damage, while the e-bike was totaled.
