Kennett Walmart shooter spotted, arrested
KENNETT, Mo. (KBSI) – A Wednesday morning shooting at a Kennett Walmart has led to an arrest with multiple assault and weapons charges.
According to a press release from the Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney, police were dispatched to the retailer parking lot in reference to shots fired at approximately 11 a.m.
Witness reports state Jaheim Feltus, 33, of Kennett, saw his ex-girlfriend in a vehicle with the victim and took a firearm from his vehicle and shot the victim before fleeing the scene.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper spotted the vehicle and after a high-speed chase ensued, Feltus crashed into a stop sign and fled on foot where he was arrested and later charged.
The victim was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital and at this time, his condition is unknown.
