Kentucky declares State of Emergency ahead of severe weather

FRANKFORT, Ky., (KBSI) — I have declared a state of emergency in Kentucky ahead of a dangerous weather system forecast to affect the state this afternoon and tonight.

The Kentucky National Guard and Transportation Cabinet crews are positioned to respond across the state. Kentucky Emergency Management is working to keep residents informed.

Residents are advised to sign up for weather alerts, charge their phones and have a plan to seek shelter if necessary.
