Kentucky man arrested after standoff with police
SOMERSET, Ky., (KBSI) — A 69-year-old Somerset man was taken into custody Sunday evening after a brief standoff with police.
John Woody was arrested after allegedly firing shots from his home into neighboring residences and later at troopers.
The Somerset Police Department responded initially, and the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team was called in to assist.
Woody was charged with wanton endangerment and attempted murder of a police officer.
Detective Keegan Bray is investigating. He was assisted by the Somerset Police Department and the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team.
