Kentucky man arrested, charged with assaulting deputies

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — A 69-year-old New Concord man has been arrested and charged with assaulting two deputies.

Delbert Orey was taken into custody on July 1, 2025, after deputies responded to a reported altercation at a residence on Norris Drive.

According to the investigation, Orey allegedly assaulted an individual, locked them out of the residence, and then resisted arrest, striking both deputies.

Orey was lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center and charged with two counts of third-degree assault on a police officer, a Class D felony, as well as fourth-degree assault and resisting arrest.

No one required medical attention.
