BURNA, Ky., (KBSI) — Deputies with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office responded Monday, Feb. 2, to a report of a man slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle on U.S. Highway 60 East, Chief Deputy Shannon Edging said.
Investigators determined the driver, Brian Bender, 36, of Bowling Green, was under the influence of a substance that caused impairment. A search of the vehicle uncovered about five grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking, authorities said.
Bender was arrested by Deputy Brandon Vargas and charged with driving under the influence; first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine greater than two grams), second offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked license; and no insurance.
Bender is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
