KENTUCKY (KBSI) — Snowplow crews have logged more than 793,000 miles on roadways from Friday through Wednesday a distance the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said, is equivalent to circling the Earth more than 31 times.
Transportation officials said plows in the hardest-hit areas have made, and continue to make, multiple passes on the same routes to break up snowpack and layers of ice bonded to road surfaces.
Crews are also working alongside county and city road departments to help restore safe travel on state highways, county roads and local streets across the Commonwealth.
