Kentucky State Police arrest man accused of driving 105 mph

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – Kentucky State Police troopers arrested a Paducah man accused of leading troopers on a chase.
Otis McKinney, 29, of Paducah faces charges of reckless driving, wanton endangerment, fleeing and evading police and criminal mischief.
A trooper saw a red Chevrolet Corvette traveling at 105 miles per hour on Interstate 69 near Draffenville just before 11 a.m., according to Kentucky State Police.
The trooper tried to pull the driver over, but troopers say the driver accelerated in an attempt to flee.
Troopers chased the suspect along Interstate 69 and continued onto Interstate 24 in McCracken County.
They say the Corvette driver passed multiple vehicles on the shoulder of the interstate before pulling off onto Husbands Road in Paducah.
Law enfrorcer was briefly ended the chase due to traffic conditions but the suspect vehicle was seen by various law enforcement officers traveling on local roadways in the area.
The Corvette was spotted again when it travelled in the direction of a state trooper who saw the suspect drive into the yards of multiple homes.
After traveling onto a dead end road, the suspect vehicle got stuck in a wooded area near Custis Road.
Kentucky State Police troopers detained the driver and a passenger.
T passenger was interviewed and released without being charged.
The driver, McKinney, was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Jail.
Kentucky State Police were assisted by Paducah Police, McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources as well as members of the public.
