Kentucky State Police investigate injury collision in Calloway County

MURRAY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Monday morning collision on KY-94E in Calloway County left one person seriously injured and closed the highway for several hours.

Kentucky State Police Post 1 responded to the scene after receiving a call from the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office at 2:39 a.m.

According to the initial investigation, Quincy W. Tobergte, 19, of Murray, was driving a 2005 Dodge Dakota eastbound on KY-94E when he lost control of the vehicle near Knight Road.

The vehicle crossed the center line, exited the left side of the roadway, struck two parked vehicles and a utility pole, and caught fire. Tobergte was ejected from the vehicle and transported to an out-of-state hospital for treatment.

The highway was closed between Knight Road and Van Cleave Road until shortly after 6 a.m.

The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Dunigan.
