Kentucky State Police investigating murder of 44-year-old man
POSSUM TROT, Ky. (KBSI) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a murder case in Marshall County, Kentucky.
Troopers were requested to conduct a welfare check that led to the discovery of a dead man with a gunshot wound.
The troopers received a call around 8:30 p.m. on June 27 from the US Forestry Service because an abandoned car in between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Because of the reported abandoned vehicle the troopers were requested to make the welfare check on the person who was known to drive the car, 44-year-old Jesse Moore from Benton, Ky.
The troopers then made contact with a resident in Possom Trot in Marshall County to try to reach out to Jesse Moore.
When they arrived as the home, they found the man dead with a gunshot wound.
An autopsy was completed on June 29. The identity of the man was confirmed to be Jesse Moore.
Troopers suspect foul play was involved in the death of Jesse Moore.
