Kentucky State Police remind motorists of proactive patrols and safety checkpoints
FOX23 News at 9 p.m.
HENDERSON, Ky., (KBSI) — The Kentucky State Police (KSP) are reminding drivers to stay alert and follow traffic laws as troopers continue proactive patrol efforts across western Kentucky.
KSP officials say the agency regularly conducts roadside safety checkpoints and increases patrols in areas known for traffic issues to help ensure the safety of motorists.
Traffic safety checkpoints are designed to promote safe driving, deter violations, and identify potential issues such as driver impairment, equipment deficiencies, expired registration or insurance, and invalid licenses. Other violations or public safety concerns discovered during these checkpoints will also be addressed.
“These efforts allow the Kentucky State Police to focus attention on violations that impact roadway safety and to better protect the citizens of the Commonwealth,” the agency said in a release.
KSP Post 16 serves Henderson, Daviess, Union, McLean, Ohio, and Hancock counties.
