Kentucky State Police seek recruits for Cadet Class 106

FRANKFORT, Ky., (KBSI)— The Kentucky State Police is now accepting applications for its cadet class 106, with a deadline of March 14, 2025.
Gov. Andy Beshear and KSP officials announced the recruitment drive, highlighting the agency’s commitment to providing better public safety and serving the diverse communities of Kentucky.
“We’re looking for dedicated individuals who want to serve their communities and protect Kentucky’s citizens,” said KSP Recruitment Branch Commander Sgt. Michael Murriell. “This career offers a rewarding profession with an unparalleled view of our state.”
KSP is offering an increased starting salary of $67,500 annually, along with an improved retirement system and sick leave buyback program. Applicants from certain posts will also receive guaranteed assignments at their home post.
Cadets without prior law enforcement experience will undergo a 24-week training regimen, covering topics such as constitutional law, crisis response, and community relations. Those with prior experience can apply for the Law Enforcement Accelerated Program (LEAP), a 14-week course program.
