Kentucky State Police to hold memorial service for fallen trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder

EDDYVILLE, Ky., (KBSI) – Kentucky State Police Post 1 will hold a wreath-laying ceremony Saturday to honor Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder on the anniversary of his death.

The memorial service will take place at 9:54 a.m. at the flagpole marking Ponder’s memorial site near the 49-mile marker of Interstate 24 in Lyon County.

Troopers will be joined by members of Ponder’s family. The public is also invited to attend and pay their respects.

The ceremony is being held to recognize Ponder’s service and sacrifice to the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
