LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Kentucky State Police Post 1 will honor the life and service of Trooper Eric Chrisman during a memorial ceremony marking the 11th anniversary of his line-of-duty death.

Troopers will gather at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, at the memorial site near the 0.3-mile marker of U.S. 62 in Livingston County, where they will lay a wreath in remembrance of Chrisman. Family members and members of the public are invited to attend.

Chrisman, 23, was fatally injured June 23, 2015, in a vehicle crash while responding to a reckless driving complaint on U.S. 62 in Livingston County.

After graduating from the Kentucky State Police Academy, Chrisman was assigned to Post 1 in Mayfield. His death occurred just six months into his career as a state trooper.

Kentucky State Police said the ceremony is intended to honor Chrisman’s sacrifice and service to the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
