Kentucky woman arrested on charges of driving under the influence, drug possession

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — A traffic stop in Graves County led to the arrest of a Symsonia woman on charges of driving under the influence and drug possession.

Tammy Taylor-Routt, 44, was stopped by Deputy Peyton Jackson on KY 301 near KY 131 on June 22, 2025, at approximately 5:40 p.m. after he observed trash being thrown from her vehicle.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a quantity of methamphetamine. Taylor-Routt was found to be impaired by what was believed to be methamphetamine and was taken into custody.

Her passenger, Sharon Hendrickson, 56, also of Symsonia, was arrested on outstanding warrants from McCracken County for probation violation and contempt of court.

Both women were transported to the Graves County RC Center and later taken to an out-of-county jail facility.

Taylor-Routt faces charges of criminal littering, possession of a controlled substance, DUI and drug paraphernalia possession. Hendrickson was charged with two bench warrants for contempt of court and one for probation violation.
