Knights of Columbus hosts chili dinner honoring Sikeston officer

SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Knights of Columbus in Cape Girardeau hosted a chili dinner Saturday in honor of Officer Henry Franklin of the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

All proceeds from the event were donated to The BackStoppers Inc. in Officer Franklin’s honor. The nonprofit organization provides financial support to the families of first responders who are killed, catastrophically injured, or suffer a fatal medical event in the line of duty.

The BackStoppers currently serves families in 28 counties across Missouri and Illinois, assisting surviving spouses and dependent children of fallen heroes.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety expressed gratitude to the Knights of Columbus for their generosity and continued support of law enforcement and first responder families.
