MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) – Regional law enforcement agencies are continuing efforts to support families in need this holiday season through the annual Cram the Cruiser food and toy drive.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office reported that its cruiser, stationed at the Dollar General at U.S. 45 North and East Hunt Road through Nov. 24, collected 236 donated items, including 38 food items, 11 personal care products and 137 toys for the Water Valley community.

Meanwhile, the Kentucky State Police Post 1 has officially launched its 2025 Cram the Cruiser initiative and is accepting nonperishable food donations through Dec. 5. All contributions will be distributed to local food pantries serving families throughout the region.

Donations may be dropped off at KSP Post 1, located at 8366 U.S. Highway 45 North in Hickory, where a marked cruiser is parked at the entrance. Items can also be delivered inside the lobby.

KSP Post 1 will also host a collection event at Kroger in Murray on Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT.

Suggested donations include canned beans, vegetables, fruit, soups, tuna, chicken, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, instant potatoes and oatmeal. All donated food should be unopened and unexpired.

Both agencies thanked community members for their generosity and encouraged continued participation as the holiday season approaches.
