LYON COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Kuttawa woman was arrested early Saturday after deputies found her in possession of a handgun following a trespassing complaint, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Josh Travis detained Amanda K. Overbaugh, also known as Amanda Rowlands, 36, at about 2:20 a.m. Feb. 7 along Kentucky 1055 near a campground. Deputies were responding to a trespassing complaint, and a report of a motorist assist in the same area.
Authorities said Overbaugh was found with a handgun and ammunition. She is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to prior convictions for multiple burglary offenses and methamphetamine-related crimes.
Officials said Overbaugh was also recently charged in an unrelated criminal trespassing case at a construction site near Kuttawa. That case is pending in Lyon District Court, and she was out on bond at the time of the arrest.
Overbaugh was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
The Eddyville Police Department assisted with the arrest. The investigation remains ongoing.
