KY gubernatorial candidates participate in forum in Paducah

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – The candidates for Kentucky governor participated in a forum in Paducah Thursday afternoon.

The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a gubernatorial candidate forum between Governor Andy Beshear (D) and Attorney General Daniel Cameron (R).

The forum focused primarily on business and economy issues that Kentucky is facing right now.

Brent Houseman with the Paducah Chamber of Commerce says today’s forum was a gathering for businesses in the Commonwealth.
Houseman says, “You know in any given room you have a divided room; you have some that lean one way and some that lean the other way. And our goal today was not to decide one way or the other but to present information.”

Attorney General Daniel Cameron focused on how he sees Beshear standing behind the Biden administration, with Beshear pushing back that he isn’t simply for red or blue but wants what’s best for all of Kentucky.
Cameron says, “I think it’s incredibly important to have leadership in this state that is going to fight and stand up for your values and is going to push back particularly in this area against an EPA and a Biden administration that wants to destroy our coal industry.”

Beshear backfired, “Don’t fall for partisanship don’t get confused about this race being about Washington D.C. it’s about us so lets march forward together.”

The forum was an opportunity for area citizens to hear directly from the candidates for Kentucky Governor and learn about their plans for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

The forum was held at the Paducah-McCracken County Convention & Expo Center from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

FOX23 Multimedia Journalist Sasha Moore was at the forum and will bring more details on FOX23 News at 9 p.m.
