Laid Back on I-55 Truck Show returns to downtown Perryville; road closures announced

PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — The ninth annual Laid Back on I-55 Truck Show is returning to downtown Perryville Aug. 14-15, bringing two days of trucks, live music and other activities.
The Perryville Police Department said several roads will close beginning at 1 p.m. Friday for the event.
Closures include West St. Joseph Street between Church and Main streets, Jackson Street between Grand Avenue and South Street, and Ste. Maries Street between Jackson and Main streets. Vincentian Way will also be closed between Edgemont and West St. Joseph Street until 7 p.m.
Friday’s events begin with truck registration from 3 to 7 p.m. at 108 Progress Drive. Food trucks open at 4 p.m., and a community welcome is scheduled from 5 to 11 p.m. Drawl STL will perform from 7 to 11 p.m., with the Big Rig Light Show beginning at dusk.
Saturday registration will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. in the alley at St. Joseph Street. The community welcome runs from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., with food trucks opening at 11 a.m.
A truck rodeo is scheduled for noon in the American Legion parking lot, followed by a live auction at 3 p.m. The Attraction Convoy begins at 5 p.m., with awards to be announced afterward. Blue Collar Roots will perform from 7 to 11 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Gateway Down Syndrome Association.
