Large structure fire near Sikeston required mutual aid

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Early Sunday morning on September 29, 2024, a large structure fire near Sikeston took place.

According to the Scott County Rural Fire District mutual aid was requested, and Scott County Rural Fire Protection District responded to provide aide to Sikeston Fire Protection District.

Several area fire districts responded, and it took several hours to get the fire contained.

Traffic was being diverted Sunday morning as crews worked to get the fire under control.

Sources say the fire happened at a large building just south of Sikeston off the highway.

It’s unknown if anyone was hurt or what caused the fire.
