Law enforcement agencies collaborate on search warrant operation in Cape Girardeau
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau Special Response Team (SRT) assisted the Southeast Missouri (SEMO) Drug Task Force in executing a search warrant at a local residence earlier today.
The SRT provided tactical support to the SEMO Drug Task Force during the execution of the warrant, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all parties involved.
Residents in the area tell us they woke up to hearing the officers break in the doorway, but later saying that it all ended as peacefully as possible. “it was all pretty wild considering how geared up they all were.” Says an anonymous Cape Girardeau resident in the area, thankful for the work the officers do in an effort to keep the area safe.
Even after watching this situation unfold, he tells me he still feels safe in the neighborhood, “99.99% of the time everything’s fine here, I think this is kind of just a one off thing, you know, pretty rare.”
Details of the search warrant and its findings have not been released at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
The SEMO Drug Task Force is a multi-agency task force dedicated to combating narcotics trafficking and related crimes in southeastern Missouri.
