Lawmakers launch Valentine’s for Seniors Card Drive across region

FOX23 News at 9 p.m.

HARRISBURG, Ill., (KBSI) — State Sen. Dale Fowler is partnering with state Reps. Paul Jacobs and Patrick Windhorst to host a Valentine’s for Seniors card drive aimed at bringing encouragement to residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities across the region.

The lawmakers are encouraging individuals, families, classrooms, churches and community groups to create Valentine’s Day cards for seniors. Organizers say even a short, handwritten note can help brighten someone’s day and remind older residents they are valued by their community.

The card drive is intended to promote kindness and connection during Valentine’s Day by reaching seniors who may be isolated or in need of extra encouragement.

Completed cards may be dropped off by Feb. 6, 2026, at the following locations:

Sen. Dale Fowler’s District Office, 2 N. Vine St., Suite 600, Harrisburg

Rep. Paul Jacobs’ District Office, 600 Halfway Road, Suite 103, Marion

Rep. Patrick Windhorst’s District Office, 202 E. Clark St., West Frankfort

Organizers say the cards will be distributed to seniors living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the region ahead of Valentine’s Day.
