Leaders tour tornado damage at Perry County School District 32, praise community’s resilience

PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) – The Perryville Chamber of Commerce hosted a luncheon at Perry County School District 32 for Senator Jamie Burger, State Representatives John Voss and Bryant Wolfin, members of the Perry County Commission, the Mayor of Perryville, the Perry County Emergency Management Director, and other community leaders to assess the damage caused by the recent tornado.

Attendees had the opportunity to see the damage firsthand and hear from local leaders and school officials about the community’s recovery efforts and plans for the future.

“I was proud to visit Perry County School District 32 today alongside Representative John Voss, Representative Bryant Wolfin, members of the Perry County Commission, the Mayor of Perryville, the Perry County Emergency Management Director, and members of the Perryville Chamber of Commerce,” said Sen. Jamie Burger. “We had the opportunity to see firsthand the damage caused by the recent tornado and to hear from local leaders and school officials about the path forward.”

A special thank-you was extended to Dr. Fara Jones for providing a detailed tour of the campus and for her leadership throughout this challenging time.

“Perry County’s strength and sense of community are truly inspiring,” Burger said.
