Ledbetter first responders complete helicopter landing zone training

LEDBETTER, Ky., (KBSI) — Local first responders recently completed a helicopter landing zone safety class with crews from Air Evac Lifeteam bases in Paducah and Marion.

The training focused on procedures for safely establishing and operating landing zones during emergencies. Firefighters, emergency medical personnel, law enforcement officers and air medical crews also practiced communication and coordination.

Ledbetter Fire District officials said joint training helps agencies work together more effectively when patients require emergency air transportation.

Air Evac Lifeteam 157 of Paducah and Air Evac Lifeteam 120 of Marion led the class. Ohio Valley Baptist Church provided space for the training.
