Local business owner’s initiative supports police department

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A citizen ride-along inspired local business owner Brittney Swicionis to launch an initiative providing snacks and drinks for Cape Girardeau Police Department officers.

Swicionis collected donations, raised funds and collaborated with community members to make the project a reality.

The department now has a stocked snack cart and fridge, thanks to the generosity of Swicionis, her team and community donors.

The Cape Girardeau Police Department expressed gratitude for the kindness, saying it demonstrates the community’s strength in supporting one another.
