Local school earns prestigious TVA STEM Award for innovation in the classroom

OBION COUNTY, Tenn. (KBSI) — Ridgemont School has been recognized with a Tennessee Valley Authority STEM Award for its efforts in science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.

Representatives from TVA presented the award April 22 during a visit to the school, where they met with students, staff and community partners.

Local power providers, including Gibson Electric Membership Corporation and Union City Energy Authority, also participated in the event.

School officials said the award highlights Ridgemont’s commitment to hands-on learning and preparing students for careers in STEM fields.
