Longtime fair volunteer named 2026 East Perry Community Fair Parade grand marshal

ALTENBURG, Mo., (KBSI) — A longtime East Perry County businessman and community volunteer has been selected to lead this year’s East Perry Community Fair Parade.
Brian Dreyer has been named grand marshal of the 2026 parade in recognition of his decades of involvement with the fair and the surrounding community.
Dreyer, who was raised in Frohna, has helped with the fair’s electrical needs since 1979, including providing electrical service for stands and booths and helping maintain electrical infrastructure on the fairgrounds. He has also volunteered at various fair stands over the years.
Dreyer spent 43 years working at Dreyer Electric, where he became a master electrician. He managed the business for 25 years and owned it for 21 years before retiring.
His community involvement has included serving with the Perryville Area Chamber of Commerce and Perryville Development Corp. and the Southeast Missouri Independent Electrical Contractors group. He currently serves on the Independence Health System Board and The Bank of Missouri Board of Directors.
Dreyer has longstanding connections to the East Perry Community Fair. He participated in the parade as a child and later drove Dreyer Electric vehicles in the parade with his employees.
His father, Edgar Dreyer, previously served as the fair’s grand marshal.
Dreyer and his wife, Tammy, have three children and nine grandchildren.
The East Perry Community Fair Parade is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, in Altenburg.
