Lyon County High School student facing charges after sheriff’s deputies say he brought whiskey, marijuana vaping items to school

EDDYVILLE, Ky. (KBSI) – A 14-year-old student faces criminal charges after Lyon County sheriff’s deputies say he brought more than a dozen bottles of whiskey and marijuana vaping items to school.

On Thursday, October 12 around 9 a.m. a high school administrator noticed a suspicious item being carried by a student at the Lyon County High School.

The administrator notified the School Resource Officers who investigated and determined the student was in possession of 18 alcoholic beverage bottles (i.e., whiskey) and numerous suspected marijuana vaping items.

The 14-year-old boy was criminally charged with illegal sale/give alcohol in dry option territory-1st offense and possession of marijuana, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

He was removed from school and released to a guardian per the court designated worker.
