Lyon County Sheriff’s Office honors Captain Dennis Beckett amid recovery

LYON COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing Captain Dennis Beckett for his decades of service to the county and his leadership within the agency.

Beckett, who has served in multiple law enforcement roles throughout his career, was recently sidelined by health issues and was unable to attend the department’s annual awards ceremony. Officials said his patience, wisdom, and guidance have long been invaluable to both the agency and the community.

Sheriff’s Office representatives visited Beckett and his wife, Beverly, this week to present him with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Commendation for his contributions to several Court Security Division events in 2025. Beckett was also named the division’s Deputy of the Year.

The department is asking the community to join them in congratulating Beckett and wishing him a full and speedy recovery.
