EDDYVILLE, Ky. (KBSI) — A 15-year-old Lyon County High School student has been charged after allegedly making threatening remarks to classmates during last week’s lockdown, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies and school administrators began investigating Sunday evening after several students reported the threats to family members, who then contacted officials. The remarks were made during the lockdown that followed a separate threat to the school on Friday, authorities said.

Deputy Bobby Beeler took the juvenile into custody early Monday. He was charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and lodged at the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Paducah.

The Sheriff’s Office said it remains unclear whether the case is connected to Friday’s threat. The investigation is ongoing in coordination with Kentucky State Police.
