Major Case Squad identifies homicide victim, seeks public’s help locating missing vehicle

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau–Bollinger County Major Case Squad has identified the victim in Saturday’s homicide as 55-year-old Dianna Dowdy of Cape Girardeau.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help locating Dowdy’s vehicle, a dark blue 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe with a white “First Auto Credit” sticker on the left rear hatch.
The vehicle was last seen around 1:10 a.m. Nov. 1, traveling north on Frederick Street and crossing Broadway.
Businesses and residents in the area with exterior surveillance cameras are encouraged to review their footage for possible sightings of the vehicle.
That yellow First Auto Credit sticker is located on the back left rear hatch of the vehicle.
Bobby Newton is the Public Information’s Officer of the Cape Girardeau police department he shares the incident is under investigation and any tip or sightings of the vehicle should be reported.
“Investigators are currently working the case. They’re asking for the public’s assistance with locating the victim’s vehicle, which is a dark blue 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe” says Newton, “There should be a first auto credit sticker on the back of that vehicle as well.”

“Help us up on any leads that come in. Any tips that come in, we’re following up on all that. No arrests have been made yet” says Newton.
