Man accused of beating employee at Carbondale business

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – A man faces charges after police say he beat an employee at a Carbondale business.

Kodi E. Colbert, 33, of Carbondale faces charges of aggravated battery and criminal damage to property.

Carbondale police officers responded to a business in the 800 block of East Main Street on June 3 at 6:20 p.m. for a report of an aggravated battery and criminal damage to property complaint.

Officers say an employee of the business was battered by a customer during a dispute.

Police say Colbert left the area before officers arrived.

He was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail.
