Man accused of firing shot at someone in parking lot in Murray

MURRAY, Ky. (KBSI) – A man faces charges after sheriff’s deputies say he fired a shot at someone who had parked in a parking lot.

Joseph Scott, 70, of Murray faces charges of wanton endangerment 1st degree and criminal mischief 1st degree.

On Jan 1, 2024 around 2:30 p.m. deputies were contacted by a man who had pulled over in a parking lot next to some grain bins and a vacant house on Murray Paris Road to call his wife.

Joseph Scott, who lived across the street came out of his home with a shot gun and fired a round at the man’s vehicle with what appeared to be bird shot, according to deputies at the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.

Scott was taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
