Man arrested, accused of being non-compliant with sex offender registration

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – Williamson County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man accused of being non-compliant with his sex offender registration.

Deputies responded to a request for a welfare check in the 11000 block of Cedar Grove Road in rural Williamson County on November 28 at 5:16 a.m.

Deputies found the resident, Jason E. Schamel, to be non-compliant with his sex offender registration, according to deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

He was issued a citation and taken to the Williamson County Jail.
