Man arrested, accused of domestic assault, weapons charges in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A man was arrested July 8 after allegedly threatening his domestic partner and brandishing a shotgun.

According to a probable cause statement, Julius Gant, a convicted felon, was accused of domestic assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon while intoxicated.

Gant allegedly became violent after drinking and threatened to shoot his partner, who was visibly upset and fearful for her life.

A short-barreled shotgun was found in the bedroom, wrapped in camouflage duct tape. The firearm was loaded and capable of lethal force.

Gant was taken into custody and faces multiple charges.
