Man arrested after allegedly attempting to meet minor on SEMO campus

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A man has been arrested after allegedly attempting to meet with who he thought was a minor child on SEMO’S Campus.

According to SEMO Department of Public Safety Paul Bixler age 55 of East Prairie was arrested on December 10, 2024, by SEMO Department of Public Safety Officers on charges of- Enticement Or Attempted Enticement Of A Child (Actor 21 Yrs Of Age Or Older And Child Less Than 15 Yrs Of Age).

Bixler allegedly went to SEMO Campus and attempted to meet up with a minor he had been messaging but actually met with a student who was posing as a minor in an attempt to catch child predators.

Bail is set at $50,000.
