Man arrested after deputies search home, find meth

JOHNSTON CITY, Ill. (KBSI) – A man faces drug charges after sheriff’s deputies saw a man with an outstanding arrest warrant in front of a Johnston City home.

Gavin M. Mohring faces charges of possession of methamphetamine (Class 3 felony) and possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor).

On February 9, at 7:10 a.m. Williamson County sheriff‘s deputies saw Mohring at the front of the home located in the 800 block of Barham Avenue.

Deputies approached Mohring and he ran into the home. Deputies arrested him.

Deputies saw a digital scale, drug paraphernalia and residue which later field tested positive for methamphetamine inside the home.

Mohring refused the deputies’ request for consent to search the home telling them to “get a search warrant.”

Deputies secured the home, maintained a perimeter and obtained a search warrant.

After they searched the home, deputies say they found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Mohring was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
