MINER, Mo. (KBSI) – A man faces drug charges in Miner after police say they found drugs in a home.

Danny Staggs faces charges of possession of a controlled substance (Felony D) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (Misdemeanor D).

Miner Police Officer Avery Graham responded to a home on Matthews Lane on Friday, August 23 around 1:12 p.m. in reference to possible stolen items on the property in connection with a theft case through the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

While at the front door of the home, Officer Graham says he saw a plastic baggie with a crystal-like rock substance believed to be a controlled substance next to the front door in plain view. Police say the substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.

The home is known to officers for previous narcotics activity.

Based on evidence gathered in the initial investigation, Officer Graham applied for and was granted two search warrants for two properties associated with the home.

Officers with the Miner Police Department and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office executed the search warrants on 201 and 203 Matthews Lane.

Police say property believed to have been stolen was located inside the home as well as additional items believed to be controlled substances or paraphernalia of controlled substances.

The primary resident, Danny Staggs, was arrested.

A probable cause affidavit was completed and sent to the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.

A criminal arrest warrant was issued through the Scott County Circuit Court for Staggs.

The warrant was issued with no bond until court appearance.

Staggs was taken to the Scott County Jail.

Police say additional charges may also be pending in reference to the stolen property that was found.
