Man arrested after Portageville police say he tried to run someone over

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. (KBSI) – A man faces a harrassment charge in Portageville after police say he threatened and tried to run over someone.

Leonard Jay Boyd, 36, faces a charge of harassment 1st degree with no bond.

Portageville Police Chief Ronnie Adams says officers responded to the 400 block of Delisle Avenue at 5:58 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 in reference to a reported assault.

A 47-year-old man told police that Boyd tried to run him over with a vehicle and made threats of violence toward him.

Officers found Boyd at a home on East State Highway 162 in New Madrid County and arrested him.

He was taken to the New Madrid County Sheriff Office.
