Man arrested after shots-fired incident, foot chase in Cape Girardeau
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A Saint Charles, Mo., man was arrested Thursday after fleeing from police following a shots-fired incident.
Eziah Leech, 24, was taken into custody near the 300-block of Christine Street after a brief foot chase. Officers found a loaded firearm with an extended magazine in Leech’s backpack.
Leech was charged with resisting a lawful detention, a Class A misdemeanor, and is being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond. He also had an active felony warrant from another jurisdiction.
The incident began when officers responded to a shots-fired call in the 600-block of Albert Street around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
