Man arrested in Berger, after firing rifle at utility vehicle

BERGER, Mo., (KBSI) — A 63-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after firing a rifle at a utility vehicle, striking it, in Berger, Missouri.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Market Street. A witness reported hearing five to six gunshots.

The victim, who was driving an orange Kubota utility vehicle, reported hearing two gunshots and stopping to assess the damage. The vehicle had been shot.

Deputies located the suspect, Timothy McKinney, at his residence, where he admitted to firing a rifle to quiet dogs, but claimed it was not loaded. A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol content of .27.

McKinney was charged with felony assault and armed criminal action, with a cash bond set at $100,000. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
