Man arrested in Cape Girardeau shots fired incident

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A 29-year-old man, Elijah Burleson, has been arrested and charged with attempted shooting of a victim during a confrontation on April 1.

Burleson faces charges including first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm after allegedly firing multiple rounds at the victim in the 1100 block of William Street.

The victim’s vehicle was struck but he escaped unharmed.

Burleson was taken into custody on April 15.
