MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — A Creal Springs man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries and thefts targeting businesses and construction sites in Marion, police said.
Lincoln D. Alsip, 49, was taken into custody March 20 at a residence in Creal Springs following an investigation by the Marion Police Department.
Alsip faces multiple charges, including burglary causing damage, possession of stolen property over $10,000 and over $500, criminal damage to property over $500 and possession of burglary tools.
Authorities said the charges stem from several incidents, including repeated burglaries at the Connor Company on Skyline Drive, where more than $32,000 worth of copper was stolen. Investigators also linked Alsip to the theft of electrical wire and cable valued between $4,500 and $5,000 from a construction site in the 1300 block of King’s Landing.
Police said surveillance images showed Alsip’s red Dodge pickup truck containing stolen materials, and scrap yard records indicated he sold stolen copper and aluminum wire to area recycling facilities.
Officials thanked local businesses and community members for their assistance during the investigation.
