PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A man has been arrested in connection with multiple catalytic converter thefts following a joint investigation by Paducah police and the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department, authorities said.
On Jan. 28, Officer Taylor Cissell responded to the Easter Seals Adult Center in the 1900 block of North 14th Street for a report of a stolen catalytic converter and began investigating the theft.
The following day, Officer Bryce Mansfield responded to another report of a catalytic converter theft at a business in the 3500 block of Park Avenue. Investigators said evidence from both cases led officers to identify Jeremiah Wood as a suspect.
Paducah police detectives, working with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department, located Wood in the 1300 block of HC Mathis Drive, where he was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Marshall County related to the theft of two catalytic converters earlier this year.
Police said Wood admitted to stealing catalytic converters from both Paducah locations following his arrest. He was taken to the McCracken County Jail.
The arrest occurred at about 8:42 p.m. Jan. 30.
