Man arrested in Hazel after alleged assault incident

HAZEL, Ky., (KBSI) — Deputies responded to a disturbance on Lavender Street on June 29, 2025, and found Jacob Gyles, 45, had allegedly struck another person with a golf club, causing serious injury.

Gyles was taken into custody and transported to the Calloway County Detention Center. He faces charges including first-degree assault, a Class B felony, and operating on a suspended license.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
