Man arrested in Williamson County on suspended license charge
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — A traffic stops on May 1 led to the arrest of a man on misdemeanor charges, with additional felony charges later filed in two counties.
Raymond A. Long, whose age and hometown were not provided, was stopped by Williamson County Sheriff’s Office deputies after his vehicle’s battery died on Southern Hunt Road.
Long was discovered to have a suspended driver’s license and was arrested and cited for driving while license suspended and no valid driver’s license, both Class A misdemeanors.
Long was read his Miranda warning but refused to answer further questions. He was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
The vehicle was later determined to be stolen, and Long was released to the Southern Illinois University Police Department, which filed additional felony charges against him in Jackson County.
