Man arrested, juvenile cited in connection with burglary at old school building

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky., (KBSI) — Police responded to a 911 call reporting a possible burglary in progress at the old Holiday Park Elementary School building on Wednesday morning.

Upon investigation, 18-year-old Joshua Hazen, of Hopkinsville, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including burglary, unlawful transaction with a minor, fleeing from police, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of burglary tools.

Hazen allegedly used a hammer to break into a trailer and another building on the school property. He and a juvenile accomplice sprayed a fire extinguisher inside the trailer, leaving footprints behind.
