Man arrested on indictment warrant, faces drug and firearm charges

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Dexter man was arrested Wednesday night on an indictment warrant and additional charges following a search of a residence on Purdom Road.

Deputies with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Michael J. Bucy, 49, at about 10 p.m. on a Calloway County indictment warrant issued in December 2025.

Authorities say Bucy was found in possession of multiple firearms and illicit drugs at the time of his arrest. Officials noted Bucy was previously convicted of drug-related offenses in 2009 and 2017.

Bucy is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third offense or greater (methamphetamine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The December 2025 indictment includes additional charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third offense or greater (methamphetamine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and various traffic violations.

Bucy was lodged in the Calloway County Detention Facility. All charges are allegations, and Bucy is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
